COVID-19 SAFE WORKPLACE TRAINING

Federal Guidance Update

October 12, 2020

The last few weeks have seen seismic shifts in the COVID-19 workplace safety landscape. Below is a state-by-state summary of some of the most important changes (and continued requirements):

CDC Updates

On October 6, 2020, the CDC updated its guidance for People with Certain Medical Conditions who are at increased risk for severe illness upon contracting COVID-19.

According to the CDC, the updated guidance reflects recent data supporting an increased risk of severe illness among adults with COVID-19 who (1) have obesity, (2) are overweight, or (3) who smoke or have a history of smoking.

The updates also make the guidance more explicit about data and implications for adults and children.

OSHA Updates

On September 30, 2020, OSHA has issued additional guidance regarding the need to report employee in-patient hospitalizations and fatalities resulting from work-related cases of COVID-19.
